rockn, rolln, and outta controlln

i went out to the roller derby tonight with michelle and jacques.  i really thought it was an amazing slice of life that you dont ordinarily see in the hat.  lots of goth and emo chicks who were rockin it.  and the bodies?  let me tell you, roller derby brings a different slice of life.  i dont think they're looking for athletes per se, so you see girls of all shapes and sizes.  when i look at it, it's a bunch of chicks who are out there, not afraid of how they look, they're just doing their thing and loving it.  girl power!

lots of girls, lots of hairdos...definitely a lot of alternative dressing people, which made me think that i need to pull the rug out from under my feet and change it up.  either get a fucking piercing, put some wack red or pink streak in my hair, or definitely start dressing differently.  maybe with a bit more edge.

i loved it that these chicks gave shit but wouldnt take it.  hip checks, elbows, knee slides, and ass slams into the concrete and they'd get up and give'er.  tough.  just all out chicks putting it out there, regardless of how much their muffin tops hung out of their shorts.  you could really sense a family in the skaters and jammers.  it was fucking cool.  i wish i knew how to skate.  i think it would really blow off steam because i'm such a passive aggressive cunt.

from there we went to original joe's.  newly opened about 1 month ago and it is THE place to see and be seen.  saw two of my fitness friends in there just tables apart from each other, which was good.  had a good flatbread and hummus appy, some aprikat, and very very good conversation.  for once it was great to be around 2 people who are who they are with no bullshit and are very real.  no pretensions, no fakery.  i knew that when i went to the bathroom mich and jacques werent talking smack about me.  we just had a great time together...

all in all, a good night...and now it's bedtime for me....

night night blogland.
