the other night we went out for ch's bday dinner with the inlaws. almost predictably, he was given a gift of a novel.
yup, he got THE novel from the not-so-famous person. personally autographed too. oh and then came the gushing and the bleating about how "nice" this person is and how "wonderful" and how they went over to his house to get it autographed and this man was decorating cookies with all of his kids for xmas. they made a comment about one of the kids and i had to bite my tongue from asking if it was the kid whose urine he stole in order to pass drug tests.
then my fil went on about how nice this not-so-famous person is and how we just have to meet him and make an effort to know him as soon as possible. uhm.....really?
again, i swear that if this person was a regular joe off the street who married their niece, would they have such enthusiasm for him? i think not.
