coincidence, conspiracy, or just bitchery?
jeans and tshirt it was.
so i get there and both her and kim are decked to the nines. yes, they are wearing jeans, but are wearing high boots and fancy sweaters. i was telling ch last night that i felt like a tool, a doofus, and just dressed inappropriately. hell, even kim's mom was dressed up. again, for cooking? i dont get it.
so ch seems to think that it was done on purpose. i dont share his belief. really? would my friends whom i've known for 8 yrs hang me to dry like that on purpose? i dont see it. he seems to think they went out of their way to ask what i was wearing and then out-do.
i dont know; i'm not that sure. i think he's the one reading into things, not me.

sunsets
(sorry this will be the end of my vacation picture posts! i promise!)
class
why would i pay $125 for 2 months of fitness classes which are 4 days a week for 45 mins when i can go to the Y for $432+gst and go to as many or as little classes as i want, go swimming, or just do my own thing?
regardless i'm feeling a bit guilty over ditching janine's classes and i feel like i owe her an explanation, even tho i'm paid up till the end of april and i'm in good standing. i dont have to give anyone else a song and dance, however i kinda feel as if i owe her something, even if it isnt the case necessarily.
for now i'm just going to pop into heartbreakers classes and do my mon/wed yoga...and starting april 12th i'm going to do some dance classes with michelle. i was looking at the bollywood class, which promises aerobic activity and fun, so i'm hoping that my two left feet and penchant for endless giggling will be accommodated. i am really looking forward to it because i'll get to see michelle more often than once every month or less, and getting additional activity in which is always a good thing!
oh britney
i really hate her teeth.
i know they are mickey moused beyond measure, but it's something about the way she clenches them together that either says she is grinding them or else is chomping on a huge wad of hubba bubba:
back to your scheduled programming
i'm sad! i was just getting into it and getting excited about the storylines and then WHAMMO...it's over!
boo!
ps...
i'm looking forward to the next convention in 2011. i dont know where it will be, but i know it will be awesome!

we also had the priviledge to meet jim treliving from boston pizza. most people know him as jim from "dragons den" (http://www.cbc.ca/dragonsden/) but we know him as the founder of boston pizza and a shareholder in mr lube.
i have to say that prior to maui, i didnt think too much of jim, based on his dd appearances...BUT, he was super nice in person. very personable and introduced himself to us by just saying "hi! i'm jim" and shaking our hands and engaging us in conversation. he did NOT have to do that, but he did. so from now on, jim is my favourite dragon!
USS Arizona
located in pearl city, approximately a 15 minute drive away from waikiki, it is a state sanctioned and national memorial to honor the lives of the soldiers killed on december 7, 1941, marking the entrance of the americans to WW2.
the entry, visit, and ride to the memorial is free.
no purses or bags are allowed on the premises, so you can rent a locker or better yet, lock valuables in the trunk. you'll want to bring along a camera and ensure you have plenty of sunscreen. inside there is a cafeteria which serves kickass hotdogs, icecream, soup, salad, and cold drinks by vending machines. there are 2 different gift shops as well as plenty of washrooms (totally important if you are like me, a frequent pisser).
you'll be given a card resembling a bookmark with a time stamped on it. the time stamp indicates the time at which you'll board the ferry to the memorial. it's a quick 2 minute boat ride to ford island where the arizona was stationed. they ask that you turn off your cell phones and pagers and proceed in silence, as you will be floating over the grave of over 1000 soldiers. they let them rest in the harbour, which is eerie, yet very moving.
while you wait, feel free to browse the gift shops for unique ww2 souvenirs, books, videos, etc, and wander around the exhibits. they have a few guns and turrets from various subs and ships in the yard.
i went to a cooking class the other night. before going i had been asked by michelle what i was wearing. i figured that since it was a cooking class, i'd wear a tshirt and jeans. really, do i need to get dressed up to the nines for COOKING? hardly. and with smells and oils and the potential of wearing ingredients, what would be the point of dressing up?

i just got in from fitness class. i've stopped going to janine's place and have been returning back to heartbreakers. of course this is my first week back but i have enjoyed being able to pop into various classes at different times. unlike heartbreakers, janine's place doesnt have more than one time slot...so either you're a 5pm-er or your a 6pm-er and that's that. there arent other instructors or options, which brings me to the point of asking...

what i really hate about britney spears isnt the dog-ass weave she wears (altho i have to admit that it's a WTF moment most of the time), or the clothes she sports or those god damned brown boots she insists on wearing with EVERYTHING...

mad props to the mlc crew who put on a seriously good show year after year. in fact, it gets better every year!
i'm looking forward to the next convention in 2011. i dont know where it will be, but i know it will be awesome!
we had a great dinner and entertainment provided by mlc. our entertainer this year was miss jully black, a juno award winning artist. i've heard of her, but never heard her music before. she's pretty good.

if you ever go to oahu, i highly recommend going to visit the USS Arizona memorial.
