sights unseen
instead, i went snorkelling and saw a sea turtle. it was the most amazing thing to see...i was swimming along black rock and looking at the fish when a darker shape caught my eye. i looked closer and it was a turtle gracefully "flying" across the ocean floor, headed out to the pacific. it was beautiful. i followed it for a bit and pointed it out to other people and then i realised that i was a long way from shore and should head in.
it was the most amazing thing i saw on vacation. the whales were a close second. to see them playing and splashing from the shore was spectacular and a once in a lifetime thing. to see something in its environment is truly awe inspiring and almost an emotional moment.
i just wish i caught both events on camera!
so i didnt make it up the volcano in maui. i should have done it, but sitting back here, i can say i dont regret it.
