songs for a volcano

i'm determined to do the bike tour of the volcano in maui.  trying right now to figure out which day to do it, as you have to be up and ready to rock by 2:30am.  that's a tad early, no?  but i know that it's worth it in the end to see the golden rays peek over the clouds.

i'm stoked.

i'm taking my ipod up there because i intend to have a "moment".  you know, self reflection, deep thoughts, some kind of communion with mother nature.  an homage to history, volcanoes, time, and the earth.  time to think about life, where i am, and where i'll be...and of course i'll be thinking of the cat too.

so i figure this is a very emotional experience...at least i'm expecting it to be.  it's where i envision myself so i get misty thinking about it and i know that being up there will just concrete that feeling.

i'm trying to figure out which songs i should stick on my ipod for that moment.  clearly no crystal castles, no eminem, no electronica.

songs by enya might suffice, altho i do appreciate the cliche.

so far, 2 songs make my list:

an ending (ascent) -- brian eno.  i figure it's aptly titled.

wunderkind--alanis

i still dont know what else to add.  for now these two bring tears to my eyes.  i think it will compliment my experience.
