stairs...
tuesday's class was arms class. marla decided to kill our triceps, so we did lots of dips off the bench, tri pushups, and worked the piss out of them with weights and elastics. again, i left there feeling tired.
yesterday's class was abs. i really hate working abs. it's definitely the hardest body part to work because mine seem to hit failure immediately. so we're doing oodles of crunches and then just when you think you get a rest, she doubles them up, then returns to single counts, and then again up and holding for counts of eights with pulses. killer! and there's no time to rest because we're onto another exercise because you can only fit in so much in a 30 minute stint. gotta max out!
i didnt go to yoga again. needed time to decompress.
today was stairs. hit up the stairs by mccoy high. there are 13 sets of approx 12 stairs, which makes for a long climb if you're counting. and i was. i started at the top, went down, up again, down again, and back up and down and then did an accelerated exponential climb...so one staircase up, then down...two up and then down, 3, 4, etc up to 13 and then back down and up all the way for the last time. took about 1/2 hr. calves, hammies, and bottoms of feet screaming. out of breath most of the way, but i kept telling myself "one more, one more". i hope this is helping my legs, as it will be the only work out i really do with them until i get to another gym.
i've decided that come july 1st, i'm going to the Y. forget the next 2 "free" months at heartbreaker. classes are cut back for the summer, so i just figure i'll quietly disappear and go to the Y. actually looking forward to time alone and doing my own thing, planning my workouts and hopefully hitting up a class or two.
nonetheless, i feel good and am ready to tackle the day. yay fitness!
this week has been a gong show in terms of exercise. monday i hit up FIT class which was cardio. i was thinking how hard can this be? thirty minutes of cardio? i've done this tons of times!! as always, i was wrong! i walked out of there feeling drained and tired and ultimately very glad i went and got it done. i was so tired, however, that i didnt have the energy to muster up for an hour of sweaty hot yoga. such is life.
